Cookie preferences
What cookies we use and how to manage them.
1.What are cookies?
Cookies are small files saved on your device when you visit a website. They help us remember preferences (like your language) and provide essential functionality (like keeping you logged in).
2.Categories we use
Strictly necessary: Required for the site to work. These store your login session, language preference, and cart contents. They cannot be turned off.
Performance & analytics: Help us understand how the site is used. Aggregated and anonymized — no individual tracking.
Functional: Remember preferences like language, currency, and recently searched routes.
Marketing: Currently not used. We do not run advertising or third-party tracking on Afghan Bus.
3.Local storage
In addition to cookies, we use browser localStorage to remember your language choice (key: afghan-bus-locale) and your authentication token (afghan-bus-token, afghan-bus-user). These never leave your device.
4.Managing cookies
You can clear cookies and local storage from your browser settings at any time. Most browsers also let you block specific categories of cookies.
Note: clearing cookies will log you out and reset your language preference.
5.Third parties
Payment providers (HesabPay, mobile money, card processors) may set their own cookies during checkout to prevent fraud. These are governed by their own policies, which we link to during checkout.
